Lanterns Of Hope

10.03.2020 Music Today

Washington based folk group Lanterns of Hope gives us a 3 song EP titled “Storms”. Duet harmonies and spaced out guitars float about as the song grows in passion and emotion. Reminiscent of Eddie Vedder’s solo material, this record has a lot of melodic power. Songs that make you think, remember, and visualize. All three songs stand on their own quite well but “Storms” feels like something you want to listen to all the way through. With many strengths the EP has only one weakness. You want more. Luckily this can be resolved by checking out the bands full length “Upward Over” album as well to get your fill. Also with its weight in folk.
